Initial session for individual therapy

The initial session, or intake, is 50 minutes and involves taking a comprehensive psychological history, discussing your reason for seeking therapy, and setting goals for our work together.

$200

Follow-up sessions are 45 minutes and are tailored to what your goals are.

Therapy is a process and it takes time to notice the effects. I recommend starting with 8-12 sessions and then re-evaluating your needs and goals from there. Treatment planning is a collaborative process and we can determine the number of sessions to start with after exploring your goals together.

Sessions might involve:

  • Discussing what happened in your week

  • In-depth exploration of how your past is affecting your present

  • Collaboratively problem-solving to figure out actions you can take for your present and future

$180

Follow-up sessions

Late cancellations and no-shows

Please give as much notice as possible when canceling or rescheduling. Sessions canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice/no-shows will be charged the full session fee.

Sessions canceled or rescheduled with more than 24 hours notice will not incur a fee.

Forms of Payment

I am an out-of-network provider (OON) for most insurance companies. Payment is out of pocket and due at the time of service. I accept most major credit/debit cards. Card information must be provided before the first session and will be kept on file on our secure, confidential platform to cover session fees and late-cancel/no-show fees. I am not able to hold sessions with an unpaid balance.

Some insurance companies have out-of-network benefits. Please check with your insurance company to see if they offer any out-of-network behavioral health benefits. If you would like to attempt reimbursement from your insurance company for out-of-network services, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your health plan. Please call your insurance company for any questions.

Using Insurance (Through Alma)

Alma is a trusted platform that helps independent providers offer in-network care. Alma streamlines the billing process and allows me to accept insurance while maintaining a small, personalized practice. I accept insurance (Aetna, Cigna, Optum, UMR, UnitedHealthCare, and others under the Optum umbrella) through Alma for individuals located in the states of Wisconsin and Iowa only. What to Expect

Verification

Before your first session, Alma will verify your insurance benefits and provide an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs (such as copays or deductibles).
This process can take up to three business days, so please submit your insurance information in advance.
Insurance must be verified before your session in order to use it for coverage—retroactive submissions (after the session has occurred) are not permitted.

Billing
Sessions are billed through Alma, and they handle claim submissions directly with your insurance provider.

Payments
You’ll receive clear communication from Alma about any balance due, and you can securely pay online through their portal.

We’re happy to guide you through the setup process. Please note that coverage and benefits vary by plan, and clients are responsible for any fees not covered by insurance.
